Opening ceremonies....

There really is nothing that I can say to describe opening ceremonies. The day started at 1:30pm when we were scheduled to be downstairs, dressed and ready to go. After putting our sweet outfits on we headed to the buses. Hurry up and wait is the motto for the day so we did just that. Eventually we got to our destination of the stadium. An early surprise guest, the Vice President Joe Biden, met us and gave Team USA an inspirational speech.

After photo opps we headed to the ice arena where the athletes are staged to wait
to get in line for the march. Here we spent our free time trading pins, making friends and just hanging out. After our country was called we all lined up and got ready to hurry up and wait.

Since the US is one of the last countries to march we made good use of our time and watched everyone else make their way through the stadium while we chanted USA USA USA throughout the Colosseum's inner halls and took turns taking pictures with the performers who were all waiting for us to walk before they took the stage.

Entering the stadium was nothing like I have ever done before. The energy, the crowd and my fellow team mates made the experience unforgettable. I got to enjoy the show with all my friends and was thoroughly blown away by how amazing the entire show was.
