Aloha to the Holidays!

Holiday indulging in the best way!

Aloha from the mountains! During the holidays it is always hard to balance healthy eating with indulging and just enjoying. This time of the year usually brings colder weather, more time inside, and less time for yourself. I have found that the best thing that I can do is start with finding foods that allow me to feel indulgent without overdoing it. That way when I do get bombarded by cookies and cakes I tend to feel less deprived and only have one cookie, rather than five.

Being a complete chocolate addict I was head over heals to find the chocolate lovers pack! I can have my daily greens and chocolate at the same time! Now THAT is what I am talking about. Now I don’t feel deprived at all, AND I feel more energetic and healthy because of all the essential nutrients I am getting without all the added junk.

Easy, good tasting treats are essential no matter what your lifestyle. I have found that bringing chocolate, real dark chocolate, with out the additives on adventures is also actually one of the best fuels. It is small and easy to carry and gives you a boost at the end of a long day when you might just need a little extra kick. It helps me to get that last run in, make it to the very top of the hike, or just keep a smile on my face until the very end of running errands.

No matter what your vice is I believe in moderation. Sprinkling in your favorite things during daily life in a way that makes you feel good so that you are energized, happy, and ready for anything life throws your way!


“Your Daily Greens” Chocolate Coconut Mint Smoothie:


1 packet Aloha’s Your Daily Greens

1 banana

1/3 cup coconut water

¼ cup fresh mint

1/3 cup shredded coconut

1 ½ TBS cacao powder


Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth
